Type: 35mm Rangefinder Film Camera

Lens: Olympus E Zuiko 42 mm f2.8 Accepts 43.5mm filters which are difficult to get. The focus range is from 0.9m to infinity. Marked in both feet and metres. The lens has 5 glass elements in 4 groups. Look carefully at the lens before purchase if you can. The lens coatings on these were quite soft and can easily be damaged by over-vigorous cleaning. Fine scratches on the surface of the lens will result in foggy pictures with poor contrast.

Viewfinder combined with a rangefinder. Bright frame with no parallax correction. There is a second bright yellow frame line in the corners to assist with framing at close range. Aperture scale, exposure indicator needle, and shutter speed indication in the viewfinder. Diamond shape rangefinder spot.
EE Mechanism: Built-in exposure meter with CdS cell. Automatic shutter-priority exposure control. Manual, and Flashmatic mode selected via the lightning bolt on the aperture ring.
Film Speeds: ASA 25 to 800 / Adjustment on a ring at front of the lens.
Battery: 1 x PX625 1.35v mercury button cell battery (no longer available). Works with MRV625 replacement.
Manual Control of Aperture: Possible at any aperture by rotating the aperture ring from the A (automatic) position together with the shutter speed ring to any combination that falls within the range for correct exposure. When set to manual mode a yellow letter M appears in the viewfinder.
Shutter: Leaf Shutter. Speeds range from 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250 and 1/500 of a second plus B. Automatically sets aperture, self-cocking combined film/shutter wind, and x synchronization.
Self Timer: Yes. Runs for 10 seconds.
Flash Contact: an Accessory shoe with direct contact plus conventional flash socket.
Flash Auto Mechanism for other flash units.

The electronic flash operation works at any speed from 1/15 second to 1/500 of a second. The automatic flash setting is determined by the flash unit depending on ASA of the film used. Flash sync at all speeds. Flashmatic system with setting lever on the lens barrel. Guide Numbers range marked at 10, 20 and 40m.

Film Advance: Single stroke approx. 170 degrees.
Film Counter: Resets automatically.
